Catapult

Today I made a catapult inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci. I created my own catapult because I wanted to see the distance that the piece of paper will go.

To make the catapult you will need...

A salt bottle or a pepper can or just a sylinder thing that you can find in your house.

Plastic spoon.

Tape

scrunched up paper.

Grab your cylinder thing, as you can see in the image I have used a pepper shaker. Use your tape and stick it to your cylinder object. Put the scrunched up paper on the side of the spoon and hit the handle. This will launch your scrunched up piece of paper through the air.

Then you are done with your catapult.

  1. Hi Francisco,

I like how you used simple things that can be found around the house! I wonder what would travel the furthest - a piece of paper or something else? What do you think?

Well done on completing Nanogirl task and creating an awesome catapult! Your design is really awesome. How far does the scrunched up piece of paper on the end of the spoon fly when you whack it? Maybe you could make a video of your catapult in action, so we can watch objects fly!

You have inspired me to have a go at making one of these as soon as I can gather all the materials. Thank you for writing the detailed instructions on what to do.

Keep up the great blogging and I look forward to seeing all your future blog posts over the summer!

    Ngā mihi nui,
