Tānerore

Today for Summer Learning Journey I learnt about Tānerore. Tānerore is the son of Tama-nui -te-ra. This is my maori pattern that I created based on his story. I chose to repeat the pattern and included a tiki. I used a red background to represent the Maori flag. I tried drawing my own on paper but it was a lot trickier than I thought. Maybe I'll share that with you all another time.

  2. Tēnā koe Francisco, this is Elle from the Summer Learning Journey.

You have done a great job on your kowhaiwhai pattern - tino pai!

I really like that you’ve used bold colours and made it so symmetrical - it is very pleasing to look at! The tiki was a great addition too, I like how the green of the pounamu stands out against the black and red!

Just remember for the photo of the tiki, if you're using an image that is not yours, you need to attribute the image with the name of the creator and a link to where you found the image online.

Here are some tips to help you attribute and image that is not yours

Otherwise, fantastic job! It’s great to hear that you gave it a go on paper; it is always good to challenge yourself, as that is the best way to learn! If you’re up to sharing your art one day, I would love to see it!

Ngā mihi nui and keep up the great work!
