What are you doing today??

This is my work for today called "what are you doing today". Today's task is to fill in the gaps so the sentence says "what are you doing today". This is my copy of the slide show that was shown on the Summer Learning Journey blog.

Tānerore

Today for Summer Learning Journey I learnt about Tānerore. Tānerore is the son of Tama-nui -te-ra. This is my maori pattern that I created based on his story. I chose to repeat the pattern and included a tiki. I used a red background to represent the Maori flag. I tried drawing my own on paper but it was a lot trickier than I thought. Maybe I'll share that with you all another time.

Fishy False Teeth *really disgusting*

Today for Summer Learning Journey I watched the video of the Fishy False Teeth. Then I had to read a text called ‘Practical Joker Admits To Faking Story of Dentures From The Deep’. I learnt to not play jokes on people and to treat others the way you want to be treated.

This is my work for today. Slide 1 - The story that we had to read. Slide 2 - My work about what I learnt Slide 3 - A video Slide 4 - My comic

This work today was a little bit challenging because there were some words that I didn’t understand in the text. I thought ‘upper plate’ was talking about plates on top but my mum told me it was referring to the upper plate of teeth. The video was fun to watch and I enjoyed the comic part as well.

What was your favourite part of the video?

Quality Blog Commenting

Today for Summer Learning Journey one of the things we have to do is to post quality blog comments on other peoples blogs. I had a look on the twitter feed and I found Aaliyah G's post about a catapult that she made. Here is my comment on her blog

When I was writing my comment with her blog I used the quality blog comment sentence starters to help me. This is how I know that my comment is POSITIVE THOUGHTFUL and HELPFUL because I used a sentence starter from each of the colours (green, yellow, blue). This is a really good poster and I am going to try and use it when I am commenting on people's blogs. I asked my mum to check it before I posted it to make sure that it made sense to other people.

Catapult

Today I made a catapult inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci. I created my own catapult because I wanted to see the distance that the piece of paper will go.

To make the catapult you will need...

A salt bottle or a pepper can or just a sylinder thing that you can find in your house.

Plastic spoon.

Tape

scrunched up paper.

Grab your cylinder thing, as you can see in the image I have used a pepper shaker. Use your tape and stick it to your cylinder object. Put the scrunched up paper on the side of the spoon and hit the handle. This will launch your scrunched up piece of paper through the air.

Then you are done with your catapult.

Art Colouring Book

This is my first post for the Summer Learning Journey. It was fun choosing an image and then getting to change the colours on it as well.

Photography of nature

This is my low angle of a tree that I took in term 1. It took many tries to get the right angle.

Blurb: For the art exhibition I to a photo of a tree (low perspective).
